Observatory administrators possess authorisation to oversee all administrative tasks within the account to ensure organisation and coherence within the system. This includes the ability to edit categories and groups as needed. If you are unsure who your administrators are, please contact perspectivesupport@angelsolutions.co.uk.
Categories
Implementing specific categories in the Observatory system streamlines data management. By categorising things like financial, academic, staff, and operational data, facilitates efficient decision-making and promotes transparency and accountability within the MAT.
To create/edit categories, click the Settings icon and select Categories.
Grades
Track the level your schools are operating at and the desired grade your schools will be performing at by assigning a CURRENT grade and a TARGET grade to each school. This screen lets you configure the name of the grades your organisation would like to use.
Click Admin > Manage Grades and Add a new Grade to add a grade.
To edit the colour or text on an existing grade, click Edit.
You can reorder your grades by dragging and dropping them in their new location.
Groups
There are two types of groups:
A standard group allows you to select which schools you would like to include by choosing each school from a list.
A dynamic group automatically selects schools based on criteria you can choose: current grades, target grades and categories. Only schools that match your chosen criteria will be included in the group.
If any of those settings change at the school level (for example, a school goes from Amber to Red or Grade 2 to Grade 1), then the dynamic groups automatically update themselves based on the changes in those criteria.
To add a group, click Admin > Manage Groups and then Add New Group.
Note Types
When users add notes to a school, they have the option of assigning a 'type' to that note.
Some organisations use note types for topics like 'School Visits', while others use them with the note priority setting to highlight notes that need follow-up. You can use note types however you like.
You can manage what note types are available to your team from this page.
To add a new Note Type, click Admin > Manage Note Types and then click Add a new note type.
