Posting News
To access the News section, click News from your main Perspective Observatory toolbar.
This will show you all your published news items. You can view more information on an article by clicking the Info, or delete the article by clicking the Delete button.
Clicking Info takes you through to the information for the article. The example below is only a small audience, but you can see it shows you the article author and when it was submitted, along with the audience. You can view the article by clicking View or remove it by clicking Delete.
When schools begin to read the article, the chart will update to show you a 'read percentage'.
To post a new News Article, go back to the main News dashboard and click Post News.
Give your article a title and then enter the content in the News Content field.
Please note, we recommend formatting your content directly within the box, using the tools provided. Copying and pasting formatting from other sources can cause formatting errors.
Once you are happy with your title and contents, choose whether to mark the item as Important. This will add an important flag to the article in the school account so your audience knows that it's a key item.
Click Save when you are done. Alternatively, if you are ready to publish immediately, click Select Audience and Publish.
If you want to come back to your news item another time, just click Save and then return and edit it later on.
When you click Select Audience and Publish, you are taken to a page that allows you to choose the schoolsthat your news item will be sent to.
Filter using the School Type and School Group if necessary, then place a tick in the box next to any school you want to include in your audience.
Once done, use the Audience drop-down to select which staff in the school should have access to this news item. You can select all staff, SLT members only or headteacher/Centre Manager only.
When your audience is selected, click Publish.
Your news item will then be made live and visible to the audience you selected. As long as they are logging in to their Perspective or Perspective Lite account, they will be able to view it. You can track your readers via the Info page, as outlined further up in this guide.
