The My Organisation Observatory Map is a useful tool that shows all of your schools. You can filter the results to change your search and see different school groups, types and even In-Year Balance!
Filters are available just above the map. You can also choose to view the map based on Ofsted Inspection or Perspective SEF data.
Each school pin is designed for quick, easy viewing. Click Key (bottom-left) to see what each icon means:
- Roof Colour = Ofsted Leadership Grade
- Letter = School Phase
- Colour Bar = In-Year Balance (positive, neutral, or negative)
- Pin Size = Number on Roll
Note: The colour of the roof is based on the Ofsted 'Leadership' grade. As there is no longer an overall inspection grade and 'Leadership' is consistent between the 2019 and 2025 Frameworks.

Note: Special schools are shown under the ‘Other’ phase and marked with a star beside the phase on the school pin.
To view a school, click on a school icon within the map. You can then access a multitude of helpful information about that school, such as MIS provider, Ofsted, Parent Views, Number on Roll and much more.
You can also access the school's dashboard by clicking on the three dots in the side panel and selecting View School Dashboard (if any data is incorrect, you can report it via this area).
